Description
This degree is to be replaced by the inter-university degree in Statistics UB-UPC. On the academic year 2009-2010 there was no admission of students for the first time and no teaching in the first year. On the academic year 2010-2011 there is no teaching on the second year either, and it will be the last time when lessons are given on the third year. Students who have any pending subject with no teaching will be able to register it and pass the corresponding exams during three academic years after the last one in which lessons were given.

Statistics offers a wide variety of professional opportunities. Marketing, medicine, sociology, quality control or public administration are some of the areas where data collecting and analyzing with the most suitable statistics techniques is necessary. This interdisciplinary nature gives the statistics professionals the possibility of working in very different environments, where their knowledge and abilities are much appreciated.
All the lectures combine theory and practice, and many of the practical sessions take place in computer rooms with the necessary software packages and other necessary resources to manage and analyze databases, which is an essential knowledge for future graduates.
