Places on the bachelor’s degree in Mathematics for students changing schools or degrees

Regulatory framework

The Academic Regulations for Bachelor’s Degree Courses at the UPC foresee direct admission for students who are changing schools or degrees, without them having to seek admission via the pre-enrolment process.

Requirements and conditions

  • Students who are in the position to have a minimum of 30 ECTS credits recognised for compulsory subjects may request the change. No credits may be recognised for the bachelor's thesis.
  • Students must not be affected by the minimum academic progress requirements on their original course of study.
  • They must have an entrance mark that is equal to or greater than the admission mark for the course of study to which they are seeking admission, whether in the academic year in which they were admitted or in the last academic year before the current one.
  • They may not seek admission via this route if only the final thesis is pending until graduation.
  • If they wish to take simultaneous courses of study, they must have been granted a place via the pre-enrolment process.
In the case of students who have studied abroad but have not completed the course of study:

Students who are in the position to have a minimum of 30 ECTS credits validated for compulsory subjects may seek admission via this route. No credits may be recognised for the bachelor's thesis. In all other cases, students must seek admission via the pre-enrolment process.

Number of places for the bachelor's degree in Mathematics

5 places

Criteria for the allocation of places

The academic record and the entrance mark will be taken into account.

Application procedure

Request the validation review at the FME secretary’s office.

The aim of credit recognition/validation reviews is to ascertain that candidates fulfil the requirements for seeking admission to the bachelor's degree via this route. The ruling on the number of credits that may be recognised/validated does not imply admission to the bachelor's degree. It is issued for information purposes and, if it is favourable, it allows candidates who are seeking to change courses to apply for admission.
