2009-10 Von Neumann

Com en anys anteriors, la Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística (FME) ha dedicat el curs 2009/10 a un matemàtic eminent. Aquest curs es dedica a John Von Neumann (1903-1957) un dels matemàtics més influents del segle XX perquè  no només va contribuir a gaire bé totes les branques de les matemàtiques sinó que va crear nous camps i va influir en el desenvolupament de la informàtica. Von Neumann va fer importants  contribucions a la física quàntica, anàlisi funcional, teoria de conjunts, ciències de la computació, economia, anàlisi matemàtica, etc.

La Biblioteca de l'FME, per donar suport a aquesta iniciativa, presenta el Web Von Neumann amb l'objectiu principal de complementar bibliogràfica i documentalment les activitats sobre aquest matemàtic que es realitzin a la facultat.
